Competition Guidelines HAIR BATTLE competitors only.
This competition consists of amazing hair styles you create that includes a skit performance accompanied with dancing, acting, and or modeling. The contestant will incorporate our new battle theme looks which is significant to the judging. The Judges want to see your versatility & diversity. All contestants are judged on total hair look, creativity, innovation, presentation and beauty. This competition will allow the stylist, MUA to be as creative as their abilities will permit. Make-up and clothes is also a factor in judging.
Individual Registration:
HAIR BATTLE THEME CATEGORIES:
THEME: Re-Birth....Avant Garde !...................Choose Your Theme.
This should represent your theme be it fantasy or not. The judges should be able to point out that which model is your theme models. Create anything you like within the battle category. It can be the hair, make-up, shoes or accessories. You may use props, lighting anything that bring your looks alive and that entertains the judges and attendees. NO FOG MACHINE, NO GLITTER OR CONFETTI ON STAGE. SPRAY GLITTER IS OK.
Comb Out:
Competitors will have (10-15) minutes total on stage. During this time frame you must comb out a selected model. The competitor can do this by using a cutting technique of their choice or by styling as long as the style changes form. This will take place on stage during the performance. You will be judged on the finished look.
Stage Presentation:
Your stage presentation should all be done within the (7-10) timed minutes in which you are allowed. Each competitor will be judged on their stage presentation. All have been warned about profanity and nudity. Also be sure to have an assigned group of helpers at the least 2 (two) who knows where the props should be placed. It’s imperative to get the props set up in a timely matter. Note: All contestants are allowed to do all these styles with extensions or natural hair.
The artist must submit the official entry application. In doing so, the Artist agrees to abide by the decision of the judges. The 30-Point System of scoring will be used for the selection of winners. The Audience will be used to break any ties.
You will receive a Battle Welcome packet with information that will be due before the show.

- The competition is open to licensed professional & student cosmetologist teams.
- Entry: Fill Out The Form For An Applications & Details.
- All Entry Includes Your Prep Area, 1 Table, Chairs and your team (Total 20 including models, props, staff) & Basic Company Listing In Event Program.
- Contestant must have at least (8) models within the specified guidelines(Themed Looks), and or allowed no more than (10) models which includes prop models. 2 Must be MALE models. You must pay for additional models and staff if needed.
- Contestant must choose (1-2) model of their choice for their “COMB OUT”
- Each competitor is required to sell 25 tickets. You will receive a discount code for your online tickets. Online Link Will Be Provided.
- Competitors are responsible for their own working tools.
- 30 point scoring system is used. Judges decision is final.
- A total of (7-10) seven-ten minutes is given to perform. This time is inclusive of prop set-up, entrance/exit, comb-out, and stage presentation. Points will be deducted from your total score for every minute contestants goes over allotted time. If any contestants are more than 3 minutes over time allotment, music will be turned off.
